Red Cliff is the story about the three kingdoms.Three kingdoms was a famous story in China history.
The story begins at the summer 208 A.D. in Xuchang,at Han dynasty.When prime minister Cao Cao (Feng Yi Zhang) proposed a decree for war against Liu Bei (the emperor’s uncle) and Sun Quan (Chen Cang).
He forced the emperor to start the war immediately to wipes out all the traitors to the Han dynasty.The young emperor fear of the prime minister,he can’t refuse this proposal but to except this decision.Actually Cao Cao only wants to eliminate everyones who gets in his way,by occusing them as a traitor to the Han dynasty.
Cao Cao wants to rule all kingdoms under his command. Cao Cao was a dictator.And so the emperor send Cao Cao to south.So Cao Cao go to destroy Liu Bei and Sun Quan.Liu Bei was the first target,he was out numbered and lost by Cao Cao’s attack,but he manage to run away with all his troops and peoples.
He lost his wife in his way to run.Liu Bei has 3 great general Guan Yu,Zhang Fei,Zi Long and a viceroy named Kong Ming (Takeshi Kaneshiro),he was an expert in war strategy.By his advice Liu Bei can survive from Cao Cao attack.Liu Bei was a wise and respected leader either by his soldier or his people.Kong Ming decided to go to Wu country and meet Sun Quan to convinced him to cooperate with Liu Bei to fight Cao Cao.
At first there is a pro and contra about Kong Ming’s offer to Sun Quan Some of the Wu ministers agreed some are not,because they fear of Cao Cao military power which is bigger than Wu’s.Cao Cao knows about Liu Bei’s plan.So he also send a letter to Sun Quan to surrender.Sun Quan has a great general Zhou Yu (Tony Leung),he also have great experience in battle strategy, specially in water combat.
Wu country was surrounded by rivers.Zhou Yu has a beautifull wife named Xiao Qiao (Chi Ling Lin).Cao Cao was once in love with Xiao Qiao but in the end she married with Zhou You.So Cao Cao plans to take her from Zhou Yu’s hand after conquering Wu.Sun Quan has a sister named Sun Shang Xiang (Vicky Zhao),she was a rebell to his brother but she was a smart girl.
At last Sun Quan was convinced by Kong Ming and Zhou Yu to rise and fight Cao Cao.Cao Cao receive the letter from Sun Quan that they will not surrender, which means war.So Cao Cao without hesitation attacks Wu by the river.He recruited Cai mao and Zhang Yun from south which has know about the field in Wu rivers.Cao Cao sends his cavalery through the land for the first attack.But they failed.Zhou Yu know that this attack is just a trap to know how big is Wu’s power, while 800 ship of Cao Cao armys is waiting to attack from the rivers.
The movie is the first session.It ends when Cao Cao armys is waiting to attack Wu from the rivers.The action in this movie is great, a great Chinese colossal battles movie.The story is added with romance and dramatic scene.If you loves the story of the three kingdoms it surely a movie you don’t want to mist.Great heroic action that will make you amazed.So it’s a worth to watch movie.
